When Lakeside students saw the Niche rankings this year, there was a cry of outrage. Why? Because our school, which has topped the Niche charts for top private schools in Washington for many years, has suddenly dropped to third. Overlake and Eastside now occupy the top and second spots respectively.
The outrage was followed by attempts to understand why Overlake and EPS were ranked higher than Lakeside, with many
Lakesiders settling on the fact that Lakeside did not have a reported “diversity” score. To better answer this question, here at Tatler, we let the numbers speak for themselves.
Note: Since EPS and Overlake don’t have one dedicated lunch price for everyone, the displayed cost of lunch per year includes a hot meal, a dessert, and a drink every day.
