Joining the likes of Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, and Mike Trout, Arizona Diamondbacks Left Fielder and Lakeside Alumnus Corbin Carroll was recently announced 2023 Major League National League Rookie of the Year.
Carroll’s season made history, due in no small part to him ranking 16th in batting averages for the whole league. He became the first MLB rookie to hit more than 25 home runs and steal more than 50 bases in a season, and he was unanimously chosen for the award.
This past postseason, Carroll’s bat and defensive spark helped lead the team on a thrilling postseason run, ending with the Diamondbacks reaching the World Series for the third time in franchise history. Congrats, Corbin!
